Trustee Member of the Board and Chair of Finance and Audit Committee

Location: Twice yearly meetings, usually in Brighton UK. Meetings of the FAC are usually virtual.
Salary: The position is not remunerated but travel costs will be met.

The International HIV/AIDS Alliance (the Alliance) is an international NGO and a unique network of nationally-based, independent, civil society organisations (named ‘Linking Organisations’) united by our vision of a world without AIDS. We are committed to joint action, working with communities through local, national and global action on HIV, health and human rights.

The Alliance’s secretariat is based in Brighton, UK where the international Board of Trustees usually meets. The Board comprises some 14 members with diverse skills and experience. They approve the Alliance’s global strategy and are responsible for ensuring that the organisation’s policies are in keeping with its mission.

We are looking for someone with extensive financial knowledge and experience (Director or CFO level) to become a Trustee on the Board, with the potential to assume the role of Chair of our Finance and Audit Committee. 

Professionally you will have significant, recent experience of supervising or leading audit programmes and finance functions. Personally you will be able to build strong and credible relationships with all stakeholders, including the Linking Organisations and funding partners, and to inspire confidence in colleagues and auditors alike.  Your values will align with ours and you will have genuine enthusiasm to help deliver the Alliance strategy.
