Senior Advisor: Policy (PITCH)

The International HIV/AIDS Alliance works with communities through local, national and global action on HIV, health and human rights. Our vision is a world without AIDS. Since 1994, the Alliance and its partners have supported over 3,000 projects, in over 40 countries, reaching millions of people.

We are seeking a an experienced and driven Senior Advisor: Policy (PITCH) to provide technical support to country implementing partners, including the development and implementation of project strategies. This is a fixed-term contract until December 2020.

It is an exciting time to join the International HIV/AIDS Alliance. The organisation has implemented a significant change programme and in this role you will be fundamental to the success of this programme. You will be providing advocacy and policy support, developing advocacy objectives of PITCH (Partnership to Inspire, Transform and Connect to the HIV response). You will ensure project plans reflect and contribute strongly to PITCH's global, national and regional policy and advocacy strategies.

The role will:

  • Provide technical policy advice and support to country implementing partners, including the development and implementation of project strategies, theories of change, campaigns, work plans and associated budgets in each of the focus countries in Partnership to Inspire, Transform and Connect to the HIV response (PITCH). Provide advocacy and policy support, developing advocacy strategies at country and regional level that are aligned with theories of change and the advocacy objectives of PITCH. Ensure project plans reflect and contribute strongly to PITCH’s global, national and regional policy and advocacy strategies. Facilitate power mapping and policy analysis at national and local level, to support the programme advocacy strategies.
  • Work in collaboration with Aidsfonds and, when relevant SAA, to profile the programme and engage with key institutions and organisations in country, regionally and globally. Work with the Lead: Programme, Lead: Policy and other PITCH programme team members, national partners, and in-country project leads, to ensure effective country-level planning/budgeting and review, to deliver annual work plans on budget, and to ensure successful country-level operations.
  • Develop close working relations with in-country partners and engage in technical support and knowledge sharing practices, including identifying technical support needs to ensure capacity among the country partners is built.
  • Work closely with the Alliance’s PITCH team to ensure that the programme reflects, benefits from, and advances the Alliance’s good practice standards and achieves PITCH programme’s planned results.
